50 Days to More: Day Forty-Five

50 Days to More

A Seven Week Campaign to Begin 2018

Week 7: Sowing Uncommon Seeds with Expectation

Day Forty-Five (2/20/18): Your Seed is the Key to Your Future
Recommended Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Whatever is happening in your life today is the result of the seed you chose to sow yesterday. If you’re living a life of peace and joy, it’s because of the seeds you sowed. If you’re living in turmoil, chances are that you sowed seeds of trouble (yes, that’s a bit harsh but true!). If you’re walking in forgiveness, you chose to sow forgiveness and receive it back from God. If the seed we sowed yesterday is what has determined what’s happening in our lives today, then the seeds we sow today determine what will happen in our lives tomorrow.

Your seed is the key to your future! When you sow a seed, you schedule a harvest in your life. That harvest might be good or bad, depending on if you sowed a positive or a negative seed.

Throughout this devotional series, we’ve established that God is the source of our increase. We recognized that we have God-given dreams burning inside of us. We’ve spent time talking about our assignments which are God’s callings on our lives. Uncommon mentorship might be something we’re investing in. It’s great if we’re cultivating hourly obedience and creating success in our daily routines. But if we aren’t sowing seeds with expectation...we aren’t going to reap a harvest for those things in our future.

There are six incredible powers of the seed that correlate to our future. Check them out!

1. Penetration - Your seed can get through any obstacle! Think of a little weed that’s able to grow through a small crack in a sidewalk.

2. Predestination - The seed has the power to decide in advance what kind of harvest you’re going to receive.

3. Multiplication - You always get back more than you sow!

4. Domination - Through your seed, you can come into a position of domination as you grow in success.

5. Equalization - The areas in which you are lacking can be made equal!

6. Compensation - If you’re lacking something, sow into the life of whoever has what you need!

Maybe you’ve been starting to think about what kind of seeds you want to sow. When you sow them, think about your future and pray for it. You have the power to decide what kind of harvest you will get! Determine what you want or need, invest in it, and trust God to grow it for you.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
