Week 6: Creating Success in Your Daily Routine

Day Thirty-Seven (2/12/18): People of Uncommon Success
Recommended Reading: Ecclesiastes 11

Once again, creating a life of success only happens through creating your daily success routine. In our world today most people are in love with the image of success but they are far less interested in the process of becoming successful. Not only do you need to create a daily success routine, but also you must fall in love with the process that it’s taking you through!

Here are a few quotes and examples from great achievers:

Abraham Lincoln, “I will study, I will prepare myself. Someday my chance will come.”

Nelson Mandela was asked what he was doing all those years he was locked up in prison. The reporter thought he must have been disgusted, angry, and that he would respond about how unjust it was! But instead Mandela replied, “I studied and learned because I knew that when I was released I would be used to transform my country.”

Years ago there was a famous businesswoman in Dallas, TX. She was so wealthy that when she died she was worth about 300 million dollars. The business that she had developed was worth about 2 billion dollars. The key to her success was found in her daily success routine! Every night before going to bed, she would write down 6 critical things to do tomorrow. Then the next day she would get up and systematically complete those tasks! Since 1962, planning was her daily routine.

There was a professional baseball player would had just pitched his 7th no-hitter game. After it was over, reporters were looking for him so they could interview him. When they couldn’t find him, they thought maybe he’s already out celebrating; maybe he wanted to be the first one at the restaurant or bar. No, they found him in the locker room riding a stationary bicycle, like he did after every game to train his core strength. Even though he had experienced a great success, he still didn’t waiver from his routine.

When Oprah Winfrey was asked by a reporter concerning her success, “Do you feel lucky?” She responded, “I don’t believe in luck. I believe that success comes when preparation and opportunity kiss.” Oprah has also commented on other keys to her success, including: journaling everyday and reading at least 2 books every week!

Throughout the rest of this week we will be discussing Daily Habits of Uncommon Achievers. Here are the first two:

People of uncommon success arise at the same time every morning.

Uncommon business leaders start their work at the same time every day.

Dr. Mike Murdock recalls that the wealthiest man in Dallas is a businessman who backs out of his driveway everyday at exactly 7:55 AM. His neighbors can even set a clock to it! He is diligent in maintaining his success by starting work at the same time every day. No matter what time he got home after working late the night before, he would be at work the same time the next morning without exception.

What is your daily success routine? Be encouraged today to develop a new routine for your success and for your increase for the glory of God!
